Hyeres is just about as far south as you can get in
the South of France, on the Mediterranean coast, near Toulon. The show is held
in the town Casino - not actually amongst the Gaming Tables, but in the "Forum
du Casino".
This trip was somewhat different to our "normal"
overseas shows, insomuch as only two of our UK-based SIG members went. However,
several of our French SIG members are based in the South of France and are
members of AMV83 - and so we still managed to put on an impressive display,
thanks mainly to our "host" SIG members !
The display itself looks rather different to our usual
SIG displays, as it utilised much of the display materials from our French
members (flags, namecards, etc). Our French members also enjoy making models of
entire teams too - something that most other members don't do. So, this
particular display became very much a great example of how they do
things.
There are 80 models on the display, all in 1/72nd
scale, built by four of our SIG members. |
